Can metformin be used in diabetic kidney disease?

Dr. Vinod Mittal, Senior Diabetologist, Delhi Heart and Lung Institute, will talk about metformin used in diabetic kidney disease in this video. Metformin is the first line of treatment in all type 2 diabetes patients. It has pleotropic effect also. He will talk how many doctors stop metformin when serum creatinine reaches 1.5 level. He will further explain that serum creatinine is not a criteria to stop metformin in these patients.
