The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the modified Martin procedure in treating patients with megacystismicrocolon intestinal hypoperistalsis syndrome (MMIHS). The researchers conducted a retrospective review of medical records for patients diagnosed with MMIHS who underwent surgical intervention at their institution from August 2019 to June 2023. Both the modified Martin procedure and the Bishop–Koop procedure were performed. They collected data on patient demographics, surgical duration, intraoperative blood loss, complications, and clinical outcomes.
