• Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is one of the most common and single severe gene disorders, affecting approximately 30 million people worldwide.

• One baby with FH is born globally every minute.

• While statins and ezetimibe constitute first-line therapy, they provide less than optimal LDL-C reduction in severe FH.

• In particular, homozygous FH requires combination therapy, high-dose statin and ezetimibe, with or without apheresis.
