Creatinine is a stable indication of kidney’s filtration capability compared to urea. Urea can get affected by multiple situations like dehydration or the type of nitrogenous or protein food intake whereas creatinine mostly remains uninfluenced by it. Creatinine is an osmotically inactive substrate reliable as a better indicator of the excretory health of kidneys as compared to urea. Hence, Dr. Dargar talks about the difference between urea and creatinine and which one is best reliable test used for kidneys.
