Interventional radiology is infiltrating almost all specialities of clinical care including the fields of gynecology and obstetrics. Imaging skills, clinical knowledge, and vascular and non-vascular interventional technical ability are crucial to practising interventional radiology effectively. Also, Patient safety remains a pivotal concern in interventional radiology as in other branches of medicine. Potential failures occur throughout successful procedures which may be due to equipment unavailability, planning errors, communication errors etc. improved preprocedural planning and teamwork can potentially prevent these errors. Further, the use of safety checklists might have a prominent role in all the targeted and effective actions that can be essayed to reduce adverse events, as it guarantees human error regarding forgetting key steps in patient preparation, intraprocedural care, and postoperative care are not ignored.
