Musculoskeletal problems after hysterectomy

Gynecologists frequently perform hysterectomies globally. Women after hysterectomy often complain of Low back pain, hip and knee osteoarthritis, weight changes, fatigue, etc.

The present study identified the development of musculoskeletal problems in 65 women who underwent hysterectomy more than six months ago. 

The study observed-

  • Musculoskeletal problems in 76% of the post-hysterectomy women.
  • Mild symptoms in 44.61% of the women
  • Moderate symptoms in 26.15 % of women
  • Severe symptoms in 26.15 % of women
  • Very severe symptoms in 3.07 % of women.

The study shows the emergence of Musculoskeletal problems after hysterectomy, which is generally mild. However, few may also have severe complaints. Furthermore, low back pain is the most common complaint post-hysterectomy.
