Naked-Eye 3-Dimensional Vision Training can help control Myopia

Early onset of Myopia raises the risk of high Myopia, which may cause irreversible retinal damage and even central vision loss.

The present study investigated the efficacy and safety of naked-eye 3-dimensional vision training (NVT) in controlling the advancement of Myopia in children (aged 6-18 years).

The study enrolled children with Myopia having a spherical equivalent refraction (SER) of −0.75 to −6.00 diopters (D) a d raandomized them to receive 20 minutes of NVT treatment every day or live as usual without vision training.

The study found-

  • Enrollment of 47.5% male and 52.5% female participants.
  • The mean age was 10.3 years (range 6.1-15.6 years).
  • 86.3% of participants completed the 6-month follow-up.
  • The changes in axial length and SER at six months were 0.18 mm and −0.25 D, respectively, in the intervention group.
  • The changes in axial length and SER at six months were 0.23 mm and −0.35 D, respectively,  in the control group.
  • Significant differences in AL and SER between the two groups.
  • No study-related adverse reactions occurred during follow-up.

This study proves that NVT is a safe and promising way to control myopia progression in children with good adherence.
