Time in range (TIR): An emerging metric for assessing glycemic control

In this issue we will discuss both interstitial fluid glucose and blood glucose have their own value. Changes happening in the blood are instant, while the same gets reflected in the interstitial fluid glucose after a few minutes. HbA1c will remain and ‘time in range’ will complement it. Through combination of HbA1c and glucose trends, we can select patients on whom we need to work more.
