What are the different types of pacemakers and when are they necessary?

Pacemakers are given whenever a patient cannot maintain his heart rate corresponding to his age. They are life saving devices. Pacemakers are given to patients with either sick sinus syndrome or complete heart block. Dr. Aparna also talks when and how the pacemakers are situated depending upon the age of the patient. Also depending upon the disease process, the patient needs a pacemaker.
