What are the treatment options in cases of patients presenting with long standing discharge?

In this video, Dr. Nishi Gupta, Head department of ENT, Dr. Shroffs Charity Eye Hospital, Delhi, will discuss the treatment options in patients with long standing discharge. She talks about two kinds of pathology seen in the ear: Simple perforation of the ear drum, Bones of the ear is diseased. In simple perforation of the ear drum, tympanoplasty – a surgical procedure is done. She will explain about tympanoplasty. In the diseased bones of the ear, it also needs surgical intervention with grafting of tympanic membrane. This is a serious disease as it might lead to irreversible hearing loss.
