In this video, Dr. Mahesh Verma, Padma Shri Awardee, President of Indian Academy of Restorative Dentistry (IARD) and Vice President of Dental Council of India, will discuss about dental fluorosis in this video. Fluoride is been used to prevent dental caries and decay but if used in excess can lead to dental fluorosis. Fluorosis is a very common dental condition. Dr. Mahesh also talks about different intensity of dental fluorosis. The mild form has white spots whereas the severe type has a brown staining of teeth or discoloration. He will talk on the impact of excess fluoride. Teeth which are affected by dental fluorosis become weak. He will also discuss the treatment for dental fluorosis also. This condition is more seen in semi-urban or rural areas.
