In this video, Dr. Narendra Saini, MBBS, MD, Internal / General Medicine, will discuss about the stool culture test in this video. Stool culture is not done routinely, only in certain conditions such as Salmonella, Shigella, etc. Also, stool culture is done in rice-watery stool, mucus in stools or blood in stools. The stool culture is collected in a sterile container and doesn’t require full container. A small teaspoon is efficient for testing. The reports of the stool culture are available in 48 – 72 hours.
