It is reported in literature that glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate do not play much role in osteoarthritis knee. Dr. Mahajan further says that they are prescribed as many physicians feel that they might reduce the pain. Also, glucosamine is known to produce hyaluronic acid in the knee but it Ais not scientifically proven.
