When should we remove gallbladder in a patient with acute cholecystitis?

Dr. K K Aggarwal, President Heart Care Foundation of India and Group Editor in Chief MEDtalks, will talk about the gall bladder surgery in a patient with acute cholecystitis in this video. If a patient has an acute cholecystitis or gangrenous cholecystitis, then laparoscopically gall bladder should be removed within 72 hours. An after 72 hours, an open laparoscopy operation should be done. If the patient has a comorbid condition, then it is better to wait and operate after 6-8 weeks of stabilization.
